Modern Art Oxford - looks pretty in pink

PASSERS-BY were tickled pink yesterday when they passed Modern Art Oxford, which has been painted to highlight a forthcoming show.
The Pembroke Street art gallery is hosting a new exhibition called Transmission Interrupted, which opens on Saturday.
The show, which runs until June 21, features 14 contemporary artists from across the world, including Nicaraguan Ernesto Salmeron, above, who has painted the front of the building pink to publicise the exhibition.
He chose the colour to show his support for the Sandinista political party in Nicaragua, which has adopted pink and yellow as its party colours.
Frankie Arnold, a spokesman for the museum, added: “The pink paint has attracted a lot of attention and people have been coming into the building to find out what this is all about.â€
The museum will revert to its usual grey colour at the end of the exhibition.
